immerhin

at least

adverb IM-er-hin Less Common

Also means

after all

Usage Note

immerhin softens a statement to concede a redeeming point: 'at least' or 'after all'. It often introduces a justification, as in Immerhin habe ich es versucht ('At least I tried'). Don't confuse it with immer noch ('still') or plain immer ('always').

Examples

"Immerhin haben wir gewonnen."

Natural Translation

At least we won.

Literal Translation

At-least have we won.
