Usage Note

bevor is the subordinating conjunction 'before', which sends the verb to the end of its clause: bevor ich gehe. Do not confuse it with the preposition vor ('before, in front of') or the separable prefix in bevorstehen ('to be imminent'). It only joins clauses, never noun phrases.
