Usage Note
Schuldanerkenntnis (§ 781 BGB) creates an independent basis for a creditor's claim even if the underlying contract is disputed. It must be in writing; if notarised, it can serve as an enforceable title (Vollstreckungstitel). Plural: Schuldanerkenntnisse.
