Usage Note
Lupine (Lupinus ssp.) produces tall, colourful spikes of flowers popular in German gardens. Some species are invasive, especially Stauden-Lupine along roadsides and riverbanks. Lupins also fix nitrogen and are increasingly grown as a protein crop (Süßlupinen) as a meat alternative.
