selber

oneself

determiner ZEL-ber Common

Usage Note

selber is the colloquial twin of selbst, meaning '(by) oneself': Ich mache es selber. The two are interchangeable for emphasis, but only selbst can also mean 'even' before a noun, so selber is slightly less flexible.

Examples

"Das habe ich selber gemacht."

Natural Translation

I did that myself.

Literal Translation

That have I myself done.
