Usage Note

Wundnaht is the closing of a wound with sutures (Fäden) or staples. In colloquial German people often say Nähen (sewing) or Fäden bekommen (get stitches). Wundnähte are removed (gezogen) after healing. Absorbable sutures (resorbierbare Nähte) dissolve on their own.
