Usage Note
Antihistaminikum is a drug that blocks histamine receptors, used to treat allergic reactions, hay fever (Heuschnupfen), and hives (Nesselsucht). First-generation antihistamines cause drowsiness (Schläfrigkeit); newer ones (Cetirizin, Loratadin) are largely non-sedating.
