Usage Note

Weitsprung is the athletics long jump event. Distinguish from Hochsprung (high jump) and Dreisprung (triple jump). Athletes take a run-up (Anlauf) and take off from a board (Absprungbrett), aiming for maximum distance in a sand pit.
