Oktober

October

noun ok-TOH-ber Common

Origin: from Latin october

Usage Note

Oktober is masculine (der Oktober) like all German months, and you say im Oktober for 'in October'. Note the k spelling, unlike English's c. It famously names the Oktoberfest, which confusingly mostly takes place in September.

Examples

"Im Oktober wird es kalt."

Natural Translation

In October it gets cold.

Literal Translation

In October becomes it cold.
