Usage Note

Konjunktur refers to the state of the business cycle, the overall economic climate. Die Konjunktur brummt means the economy is booming; die Konjunktur schwächelt means it is flagging. The adjective konjunkturell means cyclical. Do not confuse it with grammar's Konjunktiv.
