Hustensaft is a liquid cough medicine taken by the spoonful. It is available without prescription in German pharmacies (Apotheke). Different formulations exist for productive coughs (schleimlösend) and dry irritating coughs (hustenreizstillend). Popular brands include Prospan and Bronchipret.
