Usage Note

Daunenweste is a sleeveless padded gilet filled with down (Daunen) or synthetic fill, worn as a warm layer over knitwear or a shirt. It is extremely popular in Germany for outdoor activities and commuting in autumn and mild winter. Distinct from Daunenjacke (down jacket with sleeves).
