Usage Note
nichts is the indefinite pronoun 'nothing' and never changes form. Don't confuse it with nicht (plain 'not'): the extra -s makes all the difference. A following adjective is capitalized and neuter, as in nichts Neues ('nothing new'), and gar nichts means 'nothing at all'.
Examples
"Ich habe nichts gesehen."
Natural Translation
I saw nothing.
Literal Translation
I have nothing seen.
