noun mo-RAST Rare

Usage Note

Morast refers to waterlogged, muddy ground — deeper and stickier than a simple puddle, but less organised than a peat bog (Moor). Often used figuratively: im Morast der Bürokratie versinken (to sink into the mire of bureaucracy). The adjective morastig describes boggy terrain.
