Usage Note
Meeresfrüchte ('sea fruits') is a collective noun for edible sea creatures other than fish: mussels (Muscheln), shrimps (Garnelen), lobster (Hummer), etc. It is always plural in this sense. Meeresfrucht as singular is rarely used.
