Usage Note
Goldammer (Emberiza citrinella) is a bright yellow bunting of farmland hedgerows. The male's song is mnemonically rendered in German as 'wie wie wie hab ich dich lieb'. Though still widespread, numbers have declined with the loss of field margins.

Natural Translation
The yellowhammer sang tirelessly from a fence post at the field's edge.
