Bandscheibenvorfall occurs when the soft inner core of a spinal disc pushes through its outer ring, pressing on nerves. It causes radiating pain (ausstrahlende Schmerzen) into arms or legs depending on location. Conservative treatment (Physiotherapie) is usually tried before surgery.
